The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a ‘Higher Education Summit 2018’ on Friday, June 29, 2018 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi under the able chairmanship of Dr. P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Gurugram. With chancellors/ vice-chancellors, professors, HR professionals, directors/ deans, researchers/ scholars attending the summit; the structure of the summit was planned carefully with a focus on delivering various useful sessions in the field of education.
The key sessions that were planned for the summit included the discussion on the role of regulators to support the growth of higher education and facilitate the improvement in quality standards along with leveraging technology for education in the field of online learning. The distinguished speakers also expressed their viewpoints on methods that can be used to collaborate with industry players and highlighted the need for upgrading the academic curriculums, forging research partnerships and enhancing student experiences.

A discussion was carried out on available collaboration opportunities and challenges that have to be faced while adopting global best practices. Among the eminent speakers were Mr. Aditya Berlia (Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor, ApeeJay Stya University and Prof. B. S. Satyanarayana (Vice Chancellor, BML Munjal University).

Geoinformatics happen to be one of the growing fields due to its implementation in various sectors like Telecom, Government Departments, Transport, Planning etc.
